« Regulate the use of the different means of transport in the urban district and improve the use of common transport facilities, walks, two-wheeled vehicles and bikes is one of the main objectives we are concerned with in this region and is one of the list of plans for urban renewal development which was accepted in 2001. Today, as a result of the investments for the development of our cycle network system which was acquired by the urban county council of Annecy (C2A) and district members, we would like to make improvements for : • More space and parking for two-wheeled vehicles, • Encourage the use of bikes, an easy way to get around, • Create an impact about everything you can do out cycling, • Aide assistance and instruction, • Improve communication amongst other ways of transport. This way approved politically in association with the opportunity to acquire space at the train station in the middle of Annecy ; made it possible for the opening of « Vélonecy » on the 16th june 2003. SIBRA is in charge of managing this rental supplies service for urban bikes. This is just another step forward towards developing C2A objectives. We hope that this kind of common transport service will be the occasion for people to discover and use bikes more often to travel the coutryside and contribute to make life more attractive in the urban district.
